10-Hour CDL A or B
CDL Refresher & Testing
This program is for drivers with general experience looking to obtain their CDL.
The program consists of 18 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL A to drive a combination vehicle (tractor-trailer).

We provide a variety of CDL Training & Testing services:
This program is for drivers with significant experience looking to obtain their CDL.
This program consists of 8 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL A or B, including up to 2-hours time for road test.  
Includes instruction on pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, and driving assessment. Additional time may be required at instructor's discretion.

20-Hour CDL B
This program is for drivers with general experience looking to obtain their CDL.
This program consists of 18 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL B to drive straight trucks, dump trucks, or any vehicle that requires a CDL B to drive (except buses which require a passenger endorsement and separate road test).
Both programs include up to 2 hours time for road test. Includes instruction on pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, and driving assessment.  Additional time may be required at instructor's discretion.
This program is for experienced drivers looking to obtain their CDL.
This program consists of 3 hours of individualized training to obtain a CDL A or B.
This includes review on pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, a driving assessment, and up to 2 hours time for a road test.  Additional time may be required at the instructors discretion.
4-Hour Road Skills Refresher - CDL A or B
This program consists of a 4-hour block of time with an instructor for refresher training in a Class A or B vehicle.
Additional time may be scheduled if needed.
5-Hour Road Skills Assessment - CDL A or B
CDL Training & Testing
This is a 3-week accelerated tractor-trailer driving course with 4 days of classroom and 11 days behind-the-wheel vehicle training. Safe driving practices, speed and space management, night operation, entry level driver (49 CFR 380.503), and logbooks are addressed.
Students take the road skills test in the same equipment used throughout the course. Upon successful completion, students earn a CDL A.

Additional Requirements: DOT drug test
DMV Fees are the responsibility of the participant.

Industry Standards
In order to be employed as a truck driver, a DOT Physical is required by State and Federal law for all CDL applicants.  An applicant must be at least 21 years of age to operate in interstate commerce or 19 years of age to operate in intrastate commerce at the time of application and must have held a valid drivers license for at least one year. Effective November 26, 2015 individuals who intend to have a Hazmat and/or Passenger Endorsement must be 21 years of age to obtain a CDL with those endorsements. This is a Federal Regulation that Alaska has adopted.

All individual CDL Training and Testing Courses require the following Prerequisites:
​Minimum age 19, completed written testing at DMV, Current Alaska Driver License, IA or IB permit, DOT physical, and Social Security Card.
Additional Fees: Road Test Fee $25.00 (eligible members only)

As of October 10, 2014 it is a requirement to have a CDL permit in your possession for a minimum 14 days after date of issuance, before testing can be accomplished.
Passenger Bus Road Skills Assessment - CDL B
This 4-hour program consists of up to 3-hours of individualized training for drivers who would like to get a CDL B Passenger Bus.
This includes pre-trip inspection, air brake testing, a driving assessment, and up to 1-1/2 hours time for road test. Additional time may be required at instructor's discretion.
​Prerequisites: Completed written testing at DMV, Current Driver License, IA or IB permit with passenger endorsement.
CDL Preparatory, Entry Level & Defensive Driving Courses
Courses designed to assist an individual in preparing for the DMV written tests, mandatory entry level driver for commercial drivers with less than one year experience and defensive driving techniques are also available.
NEW CDL Requirement
Effective October 2016
Alaska is actively complying with Federal Law that requires commercial drivers to prove they are a lawful Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen.

You must have one of the required 6 legal documents with you when making any transactions at DMV that requires a change to your record. This only effects your Commercial Driver License or Permit.
